AGV Wheels

AstraRoll AGV Wheels are engineered specifically for automated guided vehicles, mobile robots and intelligent logistics systems. Built with advanced materials and precision manufacturing, our AGV wheels deliver exceptional load capacity, wear resistance, low noise and smooth operation. Designed to withstand continuous heavy-duty use in warehouses, production lines and smart factories, they ensure stable, precise and reliable movement for automated material handling, making them the ideal mobility solution for modern industrial automation.

AGV Wheels FAQs

Uneven wear is mainly caused by deflection under load, inconsistent hub alignment, or poor material resistance to shear force. Our AGV wheels use reinforced rigid hubs to eliminate deformation under heavy payloads, keeping the wheel perfectly perpendicular to the floor. The polyurethane formula features high resistance to both abrasion and shear force, balancing longitudinal and lateral wear rates. We also optimize the contact width and pressure distribution to ensure even wear across the entire tread surface. This greatly extends service life and avoids the need for frequent wheel replacements caused by one-sided wear, which is critical for pallet-type and heavy-tow AGVs.
High-speed and curve maneuvering place extreme demands on traction stability. Our AGV wheels use a balanced friction design that provides sufficient grip to avoid lateral slip during turning, while not creating so much resistance that it overloads the motor. The tread structure is engineered to maintain consistent contact with the floor even under side loads. Precision concentricity ensures the wheel does not oscillate at high speeds. This combination allows stable curve tracking, high-speed linear travel, and safe directional changes without drift or skidding, which is critical for automotive assembly and high-throughput logistics AGVs.
Yes. Standard AGV wheels use oil-resistant modified polyurethane that does not swell, soften, or become sticky when exposed to cutting fluids, lubricants, hydraulic oil, or mild solvents. In environments with heavy chemical exposure, we offer chemical-resistant grade wheels that maintain hardness, friction, and structural integrity without degradation. This prevents premature tread failure, floor contamination, and slip risks, ensuring stable AGV performance in machining, automotive, and chemical logistics areas.
Drive wheels require high torque transmission, stable friction, and resistance to slip; thus we use higher-traction PU with reinforced hubs. Driven (idler) wheels focus on low rolling resistance and quiet operation, using low-friction bearings and balanced tread. Caster swivel wheels need precise swivel synchronization and stable contact to avoid shimmy, so we add precision swivel bearings and anti-shimmy design. Each type is engineered separately to match its function, ensuring the entire AGV chassis moves in harmony. This modular optimization improves overall efficiency, reduces energy consumption, and extends the life of the entire motion system.
Tread peeling and debonding are common failures caused by poor adhesive technology or insufficient core treatment. AstraRoll uses professional mechanical + chemical dual bonding technology to ensure the polyurethane tread and aluminum/nylon hub form a permanent, high-strength bond. The hub surface is specially treated to enhance adhesion, and the PU formula is optimized for high tear resistance under frequent acceleration and braking. Even under heavy loads and rapid start-stop cycles, the tread does not separate, bubble, or peel, ensuring high reliability in demanding automotive and heavy logistics scenarios.
