Q: Should I choose Straight Flutes or a Spiral Groove?
A: Straight Flutes (parallel to the shaft) are excellent for general air relief and preventing the web from slipping forward or backward. Spiral Grooves are highly recommended if you also need to push the trapped air outward to the edges of the web, which provides a very slight, passive spreading effect to keep the web flat.

Q: Will the grooved edges leave continuous lines or marks on my product?
A: No. After the CNC grooving process, we apply a finishing pass to slightly round (radius) the edges of every groove, followed by polishing. This removes all sharp corners, ensuring that even under high tension, delicate films and foils are not embossed or scratched.

Q: Do these rollers generate more noise than smooth rollers?
A: At extremely high speeds, deeply grooved rollers can create a slight whistling sound as air rushes through the flutes. If acoustic levels are a strict concern in your facility, we can engineer "micro-groove" patterns or asymmetrical pitches that effectively break up sound waves while still exhausting the air.
