Anti-Delamination Bonding: The extreme nip pressures in the press section can cause soft rubber to shear off the steel core. We utilize a multi-step bonding process, including a specialized hard-rubber base layer (ebonite) that permanently locks the natural rubber to the blasted steel core.

Q: Why is my current roller causing paper wrinkles?
A: Wrinkling is usually caused by either a loss of "crown" (the roller has worn flat in the middle) or incorrect dynamic balancing causing uneven nip pressure. AstraRoll can re-cover and re-profile your roller with the exact camber needed to restore a perfectly flat web tension.

Q: Do you offer Re-covering (Re-rubberizing) services for old cores?
A: Yes. Shipping new solid steel cores is expensive. You can send us your worn paper mill rollers; we will strip the old rubber, sandblast and inspect the steel core/journals, apply a fresh Natural Rubber coating, dynamically balance it, and ship it back like new.
