Q: Can these solid rubber casters be used on dirt or gravel?
A: Yes, to a certain extent. Because of their large diameter (up to 22 inches) and dual-wheel wide footprint, they perform significantly better on packed dirt, crushed gravel, and uneven asphalt than any hard plastic or PU caster. However, they are not intended for deep mud or soft sand.

Q: Is it difficult to push a container manually with solid rubber wheels?
A: Solid rubber has a higher rolling resistance than hard polyurethane or steel. While a 10-ton container on PU wheels on perfectly polished concrete might be pushed by several workers, a container on heavy solid rubber wheels will almost always require a mechanical tow tractor or heavy forklift to initiate movement.

Q: How do the Directional Locks work for towing?
A: A directional lock is a heavy steel pin mechanism mounted on the swivel yoke. When towing a container with a tractor, you want the front two casters to swivel (to steer) and the rear two casters to be locked perfectly straight (to trail). The directional lock allows you to instantly snap the rear swivel casters into a rigid, fixed position, preventing the container from fishtailing or drifting sideways during transport.
