Product Overview:

Stop letting bare steel rollers damage your valuable products and deafen your workforce. The AstraRoll Polyurethane (PU) Coated Conveyor Roller is the ultimate upgrade for any gravity or powered conveyor system handling delicate, machined, or fragile goods. By enveloping a heavy-duty galvanized steel core in a premium Polyurethane layer, we transform harsh, noisy metal tracks into a smooth, shock-absorbing, and high-traction material handling system. The PU coating ensures zero scratching on painted parts, glass, or polished metals, while drastically reducing the decibel levels of your facility. Available as tightly fitted sleeves or hot-cast bonded coatings, AstraRoll custom-manufactures every roller to your exact "Between Frames" (BF) measurement. Simply pop out your old noisy steel rollers, compress the spring-loaded hex axle, and drop in a flawless AstraRoll upgrade.

Roll Function: Conveyor Roller

The AstraRoll Technical Advantage: Silent, Protective, and Precise
Running bare steel rollers works for cardboard boxes, but it destroys high-value manufactured parts. We engineered our PU Coated Series to protect your payload and improve your facility's environment:

Zero-Damage Payload Protection: Steel-on-steel contact leads to scuffs, scratches, and rejected parts. Our premium PU coating provides a tough but forgiving surface that safely cradles delicate automotive components, glass panels, painted metals, and polished wood without leaving any marks.

Massive Noise Reduction: The clatter of hard products riding over hollow steel tubes creates a deafening factory environment. The Polyurethane acts as a natural acoustic dampener, absorbing vibration and silencing the impact of goods transitioning between rollers, ensuring OSHA-compliant noise levels.

High-Friction Grip for Inclines: On powered conveyor lines or inclines/declines, cardboard and plastic totes easily slip on bare steel. The PU coating acts like a tire tread, providing the essential traction needed to control descent speeds or positively drive heavy payloads up an incline.

Drop-In Replacement Design: Upgrading your line shouldn't require rebuilding your frames. We utilize standard 7/16" (or custom) spring-retained hex axles. Maintenance teams can simply push the axle in, remove the old steel roller, and snap the new AstraRoll PU roller perfectly into the existing conveyor frame.

Why Choose AstraRoll? (Your Conveyor OEM Partner)

1. "Between-Frames" (BF) Precision

Engineering Conveyor frames are unforgiving; if a roller is cut 1/4" too long, it won't fit. If it's too short, it falls out. As a direct manufacturer, we don't force you into "standard" lengths. You provide the exact internal distance between your conveyor frames (the BF), and our CNC cutting lines manufacture the rollers for a flawless, rattle-free fit.

2. Factory-Direct Retrofit Pricing

Replacing hundreds of rollers on an existing conveyor line is a major capital expense when buying through distributors. By purchasing directly from the AstraRoll manufacturing facility, fulfillment centers, automotive plants, and logistics integrators secure premium PU-coated upgrades at aggressive B2B wholesale pricing.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: How do I measure the length I need? Do I measure the roller or the frame?
A: The most accurate way to order is by providing the Between Frames (BF) dimension. Measure the exact distance from the inside of one conveyor frame rail to the inside of the opposite rail. Our engineers will automatically calculate the necessary clearances and axle lengths to ensure the roller fits perfectly.

Q: What is the difference between a "PU Sleeved" and a "Hot-Cast PU" roller?
A: PU Sleeved: A highly resilient polyurethane tube is stretched and pneumatically installed over the steel core. This is highly cost-effective and perfect for gravity conveyors and standard powered lines.
Hot-Cast PU: Liquid polyurethane is poured and chemically bonded directly to the steel core. This is more expensive but required for extreme heavy-duty applications (like moving 2-ton steel coils) where a sleeve might slip under massive rotational torque.

Q: Can these rollers build up static electricity?
A: Polyurethane is a natural insulator, which means friction can build up static charge on fast-moving lines. If you are conveying sensitive electronics or operating in a volatile environment, please let us know. We can formulate the PU coating with Anti-Static (ESD) properties to safely dissipate the charge through the steel axle.

Q: Can I just buy the PU sleeves and put them on my existing rollers?
A: While possible, installing stretch-fit PU sleeves manually is incredibly difficult without specialized pneumatic expansion tools. It is highly recommended and much more cost-effective in terms of labor to order the complete, pre-assembled AstraRoll PU-coated roller.
