Custom Large-Scale OEM Orders of Precision Rollers
Last week, the production and logistics teams at AstroRoll hit another major milestone by successfully completing and dispatching high-volume OEM orders of precision guide rollers for a leading overseas converting equipment manufacturer.
When international clients place bulk orders for critical components, they need absolute assurance on three things: dimensional consistency, on-time delivery, and bulletproof shipping protection. Here is a look at how our team delivered on all fronts for this massive project.

1. Precision CNC Machining at Scale
Fulfilling a high-volume order doesn't mean compromising on precision. As you can see from our shop floor, hundreds of roller blanks were processed through our advanced CNC turning centers.
Our machinists maintained ultra-strict tolerances on the stepped journals and bearing housings across the entire batch. The mirror-like surface finishes you see on these freshly machined shafts are crucial for ensuring smooth web tracking, low rotational inertia, and zero media scratching when installed in our client's high-speed machinery.

2. Streamlined Assembly and Quality Control
Handling an order of this magnitude requires extreme organizational efficiency. After CNC machining and TIG welding in our assembly zone, the rollers were meticulously staged for final inspection.
Every single roller underwent rigorous quality checks, including Total Indicator Reading (TIR) tests for concentricity and dynamic balancing. By maintaining a highly organized production floor, we ensured that this large-scale batch moved seamlessly from raw material to finished product without any bottlenecks, keeping our client's delivery schedule firmly on track.

3. Sealed Export Packaging
The biggest nightmare for any overseas buyer is receiving damaged precision parts due to poor packing. We treat export packaging as a critical engineering step.
For this specific shipment, we utilized a dual-protection strategy:
- For smaller/standard components: Each roller was individually wrapped in thick, shock-absorbing EPE foam and securely nested into reinforced cardboard cartons.
- For heavy and oversized rollers: Our logistics team custom-built heavy-duty, fumigated wooden crates. The rollers were heavily wrapped, securely braced, and strapped down inside the crates to prevent any internal movement. This guarantees that the components will survive rough sea freight conditions and arrive at the client's facility in flawless, plug-and-play condition.

Whether you need a dozen custom prototypes or a massive continuous supply of thousands of rollers for your assembly line, AstroRoll has the CNC capacity and quality control systems to deliver.
