Industrial cleaning brush rollers are among the most widely adopted industrial brush products. As the name suggests, they are brush rollers and matched components assembled on industrial machines to perform surface cleaning tasks. Broadly, cleaning brush rollers fall into two core categories: glass washing machine brush rollers and fruit & vegetable washing machine brush rollers. Due to distinct operating environments, these two series differ significantly in raw material selection and manufacturing processes.

1. Brush Rollers for Glass Washing Machines

For standard glass washing brush rollers, the roller shaft is usually made of 45# carbon round steel, fitted with acid and alkali-resistant nylon bristles. For glass lines with acid cleaning processes, full stainless steel brush rollers are mandatory to prevent corrosion. Normally, strip brushes are produced by strip brush machines and then helically welded onto the roller shaft.

The matched water-absorbing rollers are manufactured from high-density hydrophilic sponge material. They deliver outstanding water absorption and fast drying performance, designed to quickly wipe off residual water droplets across glass panels.

2. Brush Rollers for Fruit & Vegetable Washing Machines

The food-processing brush roller range covers cutlery brushes, meat peeling brushes, mushroom washer brushes, impurity & skin removal brushes, fruit washer rollers, garlic & bean peeling brushes, and oil press brushes.

In industrial fruit and vegetable production lines, nylon brush rollers clean fruits, carrots and other agricultural produce. The filaments must withstand compression and maintain good elasticity, while avoiding scratches on the produce.

Food-grade mechanical brushes adopt PA6, PA66, PA611, PA612 and Nylon 1010 filaments. Roller cores use 45# round steel or stainless steel. Bristles are injection-molded and implanted with high-temperature resistant nylon filaments to remove surface dirt and agricultural wax. Nylon 1010 is widely selected for food applications for its anti-bacterial property, temperature resistance, wear resistance, stable shape retention and low hair loss rate.

Food-grade brush rollers are extensively used for mechanical cleaning, peeling and pesticide residue removal before fruit & vegetable preservation. Upon request, bristles can be cut into wave profiles. A pair of matching wave-shaped rollers works together to boost cleaning efficiency.

Industrial Application: Brush Rollers for Steel Pickling Lines

A typical steel pickling line consists of three main sections: entry section, process (chemical treatment) section, and exit section.

Entry Section

The entry section uncoils steel coils, threads the strip and feeds material to the process and exit zones. Key equipment includes:

1. Two identical uncoiling sets, including coil saddles, coil cars, uncoilers, straighteners and crop shears, for uncoiling, straightening and head cropping.
2. Corner shears behind the entry merging point, trimming two corners of the strip head for easier threading.
3. Stitcher for joining thin steel strips below 2.0 mm thickness.
4. No.1 pinch roll, entry platform and No.2 pinch roll, creating tension for strip transportation.
5. Entry looper that reserves strip steel, allowing continuous operation in the process section during tail cropping or stitching shutdowns, preventing over-pickling or shutdown stains.

Process (Chemical Treatment) Section

This section includes pre-washing, pickling and rinsing zones.

1. Pre-washing Section: Preheats the steel strip, removes surface dust, and flushes residual acid during strip reversal with industrial water.
2. Pickling Section: Brush rollers remove oxide scale and contaminants on the strip surface. The pickling zone contains six acid tanks. Each tank is 13.5 m long, with a total length of 81 meters. The tank structure has four layers: steel outer shell, rubber lining, acid-resistant brick and granite.

It adopts a shallow-tank turbulent flow design with these advantages:

• Side acid inlet creates high turbulence for superior pickling results
• No need for strip lifting devices
• Steel strip can be driven along the tank bottom
• Low flow demand, short startup time, no sag control required

Each acid tank is equipped with an independent circulation and heating system. Adjusting the tank temperature improves pickling performance. A pair of squeeze rollers is installed between every two tanks. Along the strip travel direction, acid concentration rises gradually while temperature decreases.
